EXPERIMENTAL  STUDIES  OF  QUONSET  MOUNTING  GROUPS  MADE  OF  MOLDED  SLENDER  SECTIONS

The paper presents the experimental methodology of Quonset mounting groups made of light molded slender sections. Two variants of counterplate position with a shear screw connection are described, and mounting group structures with counterplates are grounded as well as the opportunities of their application. The design model is presented for the Quonset fragments with approximated structural properties of molded slender sections to determine the stress and strain state of mounting groups and rationale for their empirical load. The two series of experiments are presented using the mounting group full-scale models. The full-scale modeling is performed using the original fragment sampling from the Quonset hut.
