From Polito to TSUAB

Master students and Doctorate/PhD students enrolled in Politecnico di Torino have an opportunity for developing their research thesis at TSUAB in the framework of the academic mobility programms or scientific internships.

TSUAB and Polito agreed to welcome students majoring in Civil Engineering and Architecture. Research directions for the master thesis development can found below.

TSUAB’s admission language knowledge requirements for incoming students

Exchange students who are going to apply to TSUAB are required to have English or Russian language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.0 and level B1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) respectively

To prove their English knowledge both Certificates from an accredited institution or home University Statements are accepted

  • Description of the participant’s research project proposal (topic, why is topic relevant, problem statement, research questions and methods), signed by the scientific supervisor
  • Recommendation letter (by the scientific supervisor)

    • Investigation of concrete structures with various types of reinforcement (non-metal fiber, composite rebars, external reinforcement system) subjected to dynamic and static loads
    • Investigation of stress-strain state of various types of edge supported slabs (on 3 and 4 sides, including those on yielding/flexible supports)
    • Thermal and acoustic properties of building envelopes and materials (laboratory and field experimental study)     
    • Transparency investigation of translucent structures
    • Studying 3-layer RC wall panels with composite reinforcement by flexible ties (strength, deformability, resistance, concrete adhesion)
    • Numerical investigatyion of stress-strain state and thermal stress and strain of RC wall panels (software: SCAD, ANSYS Mechanical)
    • Lightweight concrete: properties and performance investigation
    • Numerical modeling of basements and foundations in their joint work with above-foundation structural elements
    • Improvement of construction techniques and calculation methods of injection micropiles for foundation strengthening of the existing buildings and structures on clay soils
    • Material science (nano-materials, ceramic materials)
    • Low-temperature plasma technology for building materials surface treatment (surface engineering)
